From the Bride... From day one, we knew what we wanted our wedding to be: personal and a true reflection of who we are as individuals and a couple. We decided the best way to stay true to ourselves was to choose a theme, and we went from there: Vintage Music. Glenn is a musician and a high school teacher, and I adore all things vintage. Unfortunately finding the items we wanted for our vision wasn't easy as we didn't want the "traditional" suitcase and lacy, floral vintage feel. So, from about a week or two after Glenn proposed, I realized that if we wanted this done our way, without spending a fortune, we were going to have to do it all ourselves. So we did. From the bridal party fascinators, to bouquets, our multi-generational family photo display, seven cake stands, 45 mini cabaret lamps, our logo, our band's logo, my necklace, my veil, my dress hanger, our programs, our invitations, our save-the-dates, our cake topper, our jam/jelly favours, etc... it was all created from our imaginations and our passion for the "Big Band" era gone by. We were lucky to find a venue that reminded us of an old theatre and would allow us to bring in everything our hearts desired. This included our seven-foot "photo wall" that my parents made instead of a photo booth, and our 18 piece "big band" that personalized our day by playing "In the Mood" as we left the altar, and then Stevie Wonder's "For Once In My Life" as our first dance. My whole life, I've dreamed of having an opportunity to get the chance to create a grand vision, a moment as I saw it in my mind ... and it turned out just as we had hoped. Guests told us it wasn't just a wedding, it was a day in our world; one of music, memories and love.
