Jack Daniels Whiskey Cupcakes Recipe from Fields of Cake

This morning was filled with a sweet kind of romance only two lovebirds who’ve been at this crazy little thing called love for nine years can prompt. But this afternoon is filled with a different kind a sweet, a kind of sweet that holds a special spot on all of our hearts here at SMP. Cupcakes. When we saw those Jack Daniels Whiskey Cupcakes in this mornings inspiration shoot, there may or may not have been a little mouthwatering happening… Okay, there definitely was. An embarrassing amount. So when Carrie Fields of Fields of Cakes volunteered to share the recipe with us, well, we said yes. As politely as we could with an audible stomach.

Jack Daniels Whiskey Cupcakes (a variation of these) + Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

2 cups all purpose flour

3/4 cup cocoa powder

2 cups brown sugar

2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. kosher salt

2 eggs

1/2 cup strong coffee

1/2 cup Jack Daniels Whiskey

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large bowl, stir the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine the eggs, coffee, whiskey, buttermilk and oil. Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and whisk until smooth. Spoon the mixture into prepared cupcake wrappers.

Bake for about 18-20 minutes until the tops spring back when lightly pressed. Cool completely + frost!
