From Cherry Blossom Events … We wanted to showcase a modern table but we love color and especially with Spring here, we were inspired to do this table scape outside with natural elements. We saw a fabulous modern white rectangle table with silver hardware which we had immediately fallen in love with. We started with that and thought about colors. With the green from the grass, we wanted something that would compliment but also contract and pop against the white. Purple can be done in so many ways, soft, striking, elegant so this is where we went with the color for the table. I found the vases while shopping one day and knew we were on the right track. We used a violet pebble glass charger, orchard shantung napkin, mother of pearl napkin ring, modern flatware, contemporary stemware with an accenting white water goblet. To get that contrast back in, we used an elegant white plate with silver rim and placed a small flared dessert bowl filled with two shades of purple M&M’s with a place card flag in each bowl. (Who doesn’t like chocolate, even before dinner!)
As for the rest of the table, we used silver vases upside down to elevate the large purple vases even higher and wanted to also rise the dessert stand. I wanted just a hint of a pattern or texture so I wrapped a box in a modern print Paper Source decorative paper and placed the dessert stand on top. We also used this paper for the place card flags.
As for the desserts, we love macaroons and kept them monochromatic but one layer of purple and one layer of the traditional coconut.
Lastly, and one of my favorite element were the flowers. We wanted this touch to be softer to reflect Spring. We used lots os white hydrangea (especially to add more height from the large purple vases), white & purple tulips and white and purple calla lilies. The color of the calla’s and tulips popped while keeping with that softer feel, all on a modern table. To complement this, purple roly poly votives ran the length of the table.
To finish the look, we used clear ghost chairs with a white cushion. We wanted these to complete and finish the look without competing with the table elements.
We hope you like our table, we had a blast putting it all together!
