From Carla Gates Photography Tracey and Brian’s wedding day was simply divine! Not only are these two incredibly sweet together, but they also both have such wonderful families that are so full of love. It is truly a blessing to be around! Having chosen the Georgian Terrace as their venue, as well as a team of fantastically creative and talented individuals to add to the alreadythorough planning done by Tracey and her mom, I knew it would be a dream to shoot! As you will see, the floral designs done by Amy Osaba were to die for and the cake was positively gorgeous! They had Amanda Keller as their wonderful day-of planner (I can’t recommend this enough!) and a fantastic team from The Georgian Terrace that did an amazing job not only putting it all together, but helping us throughout the day! As a cherry on top, A-town A-list provided incredible music and entertainment for what was one of the best parties I have ever seen! It was such a pleasure to take part in such a special day for these two!

From the Bride… After our engagement, Brian and I initially started planning a small destination wedding. Right before we were going to put down a deposit at a venue, a friend of mine told me that she would never forget the feeling she had when the church doors opened at her wedding and she was surrounded by all the people she loved. That description stuck with me, and ultimately Brian and I decided we wanted to share our wedding day with all of our closest friends and family. In keeping with the initial vision, my mom and I set off to plan an “in-town” destination wedding weekend in our hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. We chose to have all of the wedding events – luncheons, welcome party, ceremony, and reception — on one block of Peachtree Street in midtown Atlanta. We wanted our guests to be able to enjoy all of the great food, attractions and night-life that Atlanta has to offer … without having to fight Atlanta traffic! We also incorporated the Atlanta city skyline into the design of our wedding stationery, including the table numbers that were replicas of notable Atlanta buildings and landmarks.

The wedding reception was held at The Georgian Terrace Hotel, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Brian and I loved the mix of classic architecture and modern interior design. I did not want to feel tied to a strict color scheme, so we chose bridesmaids’ dresses in a light petal pink that allowed us to use a cheerful palette of bright sherbet colors combined with mixed metallics for our flowers, linens, and paper details. Before the wedding, we said that all the hard work we put into planning would be worth it if our guests stayed on the dance floor until the band played their last song … and they did!  The neon sunglasses we gave out were a huge hit with our guests and really helped to get the party started. Throughout the year of planning, I worked closely with my mom, our floral team and the event coordinators at The Georgian Terrace. It was truly a group effort! Our photographer was one of my favorites who also happens to be a high school friend of mine, and we could not be happier with how she captured all of the special moments we remember from that day.  The entire weekend was magical, and the reception was a blast for us and our guests. We loved every minute of it!
