Asheville Wedding from Two Ring Studios + Asheville Event Co.

North Carolina, you are officially on my radar. The natural beauty your state possesses is quite possibly the perfect compliment to the classic bride. You have coastlines dotted with lighthouses, mountains covered in enchanting natural forests, and beautiful, big cities in between. AND you have Asheville Event Co. who can put together an event to die for, and Two Ring Studios who can capture said event and the adorable couple in it. I’m hoping all my LBBers will join me in gushing just a little more over this North Carolina wedding in the full image gallery!

We are from Greensboro, North Carolina and both agreed that we wanted to do something a little different and not have it in our home town.  We both love the outdoors, I have a love for the mountains and Phillip the sea.  I’ve spent a lot of time up near Asheville since moving back and it had become my favorite North Carolina town. I knew what I was looking for, somewhere to have an outdoor ceremony, a place for a tent to have dinner outside,  a dance floor because I love live music and knew we were going to have a band.  I also wanted somewhere close to downtown Asheville where our guest could enjoy a weekend of what Asheville has to offer while being close to the wedding site.  We arrived at the Homewood, instantly I knew this was going to be the place, it had everything we were looking for and we enjoyed our meeting with the owner Monroe, we just had a good feeling about this place instantly.  He suggested a wedding planner for me and I couldn’t have picked a better match, Becca from Asheville Event Co., she was the person who helped me put my vision into fruition.

I’m a simple girl who loves the outdoors & nature.  I wanted the natural beauty of the outdoors combined with a simple but elegant garden style type of wedding.  I spent a lot of time online; Style Me Pretty was a site that I went to constantly along with some others to find bits & pieces of what I was looking for.  I wanted a sit down dinner under the tent so our family and friends could enjoy spending time with each other.

I would send Becca & my florist pictures of what I was thinking and they seemed to understand what I wanted it to look like.  Jessica of Aria Floral did an unbelievable job of bringing my vision to life. My parents have an antique store which I borrowed some of their pieces along with some old finds that I took and refinished.  My mom made all the cushions & pillows.  I found a bunch of things on Etsy like the wishing tree tags, the J&P pillow, the “Just Married” sign to hang on the trolley, the paper straws for the drinks and then there were DIY things like the wedding sign, cupcake tags, pinwheels for the kids tables, the kids bags & favor boxes. My family was a huge help in getting everything together & all the furniture up to Asheville, I couldn’t have pulled it off without them.

I started off the day with a bridal brunch at a local restaurant that my aunts, sisters-in-law & friend of the family gave me.   All my bridesmaids and my closest friends were there; it was such a wonderful way to start off the day getting to spend time with all the important women in my life.  When we arrived at the Homewood I was able to take a quick look at the set up of the tent and just couldn’t believe it was everything that I wanted it to be.  I couldn’t believe how amazing all the floral arrangements were, I just loved all the flowers.

The long walk down the aisle with my dad was something I will always remember; we just talked the whole way down, then I looked up and saw Phillip standing there and felt so lucky that I was about to marry this man! We danced the whole night, the band was incredible and everyone just had a great time. After we got back to the loft, we took my dog Gus for a walk,  came back & ate a huge piece of cake & talked about what an amazing time we had just had with our family & friends!  It truly was everything that we had wanted.
