Remember these travelling cuties? Well, they’ve done it. They’ve tied the knot. And tied it with style, of couse, thanks to Victoria Canada Weddings and Events. They continued the vintage travel thread which was such a hit for their engagement, and expanded on it in an entirely fabulous way. Seen through the lens of Stephanie Fay Photography, the sweet soiree, from the vintage suitcases to the map + travel reception decor, is envy-inducing perfection in every sense of the word. I promise you won’t need a passport, but I do guarantee you will get lost in the fabulous gallery for hours!

Because our nomadic careers keep us on the move, by the time our big day rolled around, Jed and I had traveled over 96,000 miles by plane, train and automobile in our long distance relationship. We also love to travel together, making it a priority to take a few trips each year to destinations neither of us has been. So when it came time to think about how our wedding should honor our love, it was a no brainer that we should include the role of travel in the day’s events.
We love all things vintage, so we settled on a vintage travel theme for our wedding, complete with old suitcases and family heirlooms, such as my grandfather’s old photography equipment and Jed’s great grandmother’s beautiful clothes and hats. At the cocktail hour, we had a large map with flags marking the various cities and countries where we had traveled and lived. The escort cards, which doubled as favors, were leather luggage tags, noting the “destination” (table) where each “traveler” (guest) would sit for dinner. The tables at the reception were named after the places on our map, with tablescapes unique to the destination.
Instead of a traditional guest book, we set up a vintage postcard station where guests could write us their best wishes and drop them in a mailbox. We also featured many framed photos from our travel engagement shoot as decorations, as well as plenty of vintage stamps and maps. The end result was a one of a kind celebration that payed tribute to our journey.
