I am constantly in awe and amazed by the creative ways our couples express and celebrate their love. This “Love Floats” session captured by Gracie Blue Photography is one of the most adorable I’ve seen. A fun, modern balloon shoot kicks everything off in Atlanta followed by a romantic hot air balloon ride for two! So sweet! See the entire perfect day in the full gallery!

From Gracie of Gracie Blue Photography… Matt wanted to propose to Christina on a hot air balloon. But due to inclement weather he was unable to do so. They decided to incorporate the idea into their engagement session. The theme of this session was “love floats.” The two are perfect for one another. Shooting this two part engagement session was a dream. Whenever I needed a sweet smile from Christina, all I had to do was mention Matt and how she felt the day he proposed. She immediately lit up. Matt was really sweet on her as well. He’s got that old fashioned charm — a real gentleman who looks after his lady in every situation. It was very refreshing.
The first part of the session was shot in Atlanta, Georgia at the High Museum of Art. We had balloons on hand and a bottle with their wedding date, which I painted by hand. We then hurried over to a nearby bridge that had the Atlanta skyline in the background and magic happened. I popped out my instant camera for a few souvenir goofy shots. The second half of the session took place in North Georgia in a field. The miniature bottle was also crafted by me. It has the word “cheers” on it as a nod to Matt and Christina. They say “cheers” before each and every meal. It’s their “thing,” and it’s quite adorable. The “LOVE” balloon sign was also made by me. I have a background in graphic design.
They were both quite nervous before the big flight on the balloon. They walked around and inspected the balloon and looked up as the balloon and a neighboring balloon filled up. We took a few shots of some love notes they’ve collected during their relationship. They were both very excited. The thing that stood out the most that afternoon was the way Matt held her before the balloon took off. And that’s when it all came full circle — Love floats!
