From Anna of Anna Jones Photography... Miranda and Jamie were high school sweethearts whose relationship blossomed over the 12 years they were together before their marriage. Their wedding, which had a sunny picnic theme, was a beautiful celebration of their journey together. After their engagement session, it was evident in every frame that these two had great chemistry and without any direction, they were lost in the moment and the photos brought their sincerity and love to light. The same was true for their wedding day. Miranda is incredibly creative, and the wedding day was decorated in DIY crafts. The ceremony arch, aisle markers, programs, cupcakes and toppers — every detail was carefully conceived and suited beautifully to the ceremony reception at the Temple's Sugar Camp. The ceremony was held in the forest glade surrounded by gardens, a perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony. Miranda's handmade ceremony arch framed them both beautifully and although the rain began to fall shortly before the ceremony, the skies cleared moments before Miranda's walk down the aisle, and as they exchanged their vows, the sun burst through the clouds and illuminated the ceremony in the most beautiful light. A rainbow appeared in the distance among the receding clouds, and it was truly a magical moment. The wedding programs were also unique, designed as a fan for the heat, with a pouch for Kleenex (just in case) and a crossword puzzle for the guests personalized to the story of their life together. A freshly-squeezed lemonade stand was set up to quench the thirst of arriving guests.

Miranda's inspiration for her decor and colour theme were evident in her selection of flowers in the bridal bouquets.  In fact, Miranda handpicked her flowers from her florist Sylvia Van Oort, who doesn't have a storefront but rather several outdoor gardens and a greenhouse on her farm providing a unique and personalized service. A final walk through her garden the week of the wedding allowed Miranda to handpick her flowers and was also a lot of fun and a great way to relax in the days leading up to the wedding. Miranda and James are both teachers, so they decided to hire a big yellow school bus for their guest shuttle. Not only was it a personalized touch to their day, the guests loved the experience. Shortly after their wedding, Miranda and Jamie set out on a journey to teach English in China.

The reception was held in the main building at the Temple's Sugar Camp. The natural light and soaring ceilings of the main building gave the wedding an elegant feeling with the white and yellows of the decor adding a subtle warming feel. The tables were decorated in flowers and the table numbers displayed names of famous couples. Jamie's parents were from Westport, Ontario, and the butter cookies at the local bakery were one of Miranda's favourite treats when she would visit and were the perfect choice for her guest favours. As an alternative to a guestbook, Miranda had heart-shaped quilting pieces for guests to sign to incorporate their well wishes into a wedding quilt as a keepsake. Miranda is also an avid baker and baked lemon buttermilk cupcakes with cream cheese icing and fresh berries in lieu of a wedding cake! She even made the cake toppers, which were replicas of her and Jamie in their wedding attire!
