If the bride wasn’t fabulously leggy and blonde, I would swear this was my wedding. Well, the wedding that lives in my head anyway. It’s pink and perfect and like the prettiest piece of wedding loveliness a girl could ever wish for. With ribbon gracing every corner and a sense of girl built into the very structure of the day. Which doesn’t surprised me at all considering the bride is the blogger behind Dessert Darling and she wrote a whole eBook on wedding planning! Plus, she just happened to choose some of the best wedding peeps out there to help her, like photog Kate Webber and Jennie at MAP Wedding & Events. So kick back and enjoy the deliciousness…just promise that you won’t forget to check out the gallery!

And a sweet film from Aqua Vivus Productions to wrap up the day. Enjoy!
From the Bride… I still get starry-eyed when I reflect on the most perfect day that my husband and I shared together: our wedding! For a year and a half, I meticulously planned every detail with Jennie Janzen at MAP Events (we might have exchanged over 2,000 emails … crazy, I know). Having attended over thirty weddings myself, I was acutely aware of our guests’ needs. We really aimed to make a comfortable and fun environment for everyone by providing snacks at the ceremony, pashminas for the cooling temperatures, TOMS shoes for dancing and baskets full of toiletries in the restrooms! Since we were getting married outdoors and had a barn for the reception, elegant country-chic was the natural direction for the decor. We used linens with Swiss dots on the tables and an eclectic mix of vases, flowers and wood boxes on top. One of my favorite touches was the bed of rainbow sprinkles that we used to support the seating chart flags. This detail was very specific to my personality as the Dessert Darling!
As a dessert critic and authority at Dessert Darling, I knew our friends and family had big expectations for the dessert table! I spent time and care selecting treats that would satisfy inebriated guests with full tummies and dulled pallets. I accomplished this task by selecting bite-sized items with dynamic textures and flavors to cater to every whim. In the thirty-plus weddings that I have attended, I’ve never seen desserts fly faster than they did at ours! Wow, that was a true testament to a job well done! After all, love is sweet, so the dessert table should be too. Another major goal was to make sure that our wedding was a celebration. In addition to prepping our friends for big a night, we had a live band, a DJ, and surprised our guests with drum-beating, heart-pumping, Brazilian dancers to inject the room with energy after dinner. Olé! The last buses left the property at 3 a.m. with sixty guests who could have danced the night away! The whole affair was nothing short of magical. I feel so blessed!
