Ahhh...this wedding snapped up by Tara McMullen Photography is like a breath of fresh air. Vintage but with a modern twist, it's got style for miles just like the adorable duo that said I Do. It's DIY down the the very last detail, which makes me want to give this couple a standing ovation - and I'll do just that by applauding all the lovely in the full gallery of images!

From the Bride... Our vision came from our mutual love of vintage with modern twists. We knew we wanted something different than most of the weddings we had been to and wanted to share in the whole experience and make it truly "us" to celebrate our love. Everything from the planning and sourcing to the execution of our dream wedding day was done by us and with the help of our loved ones. Making the invitations, finding and setting up all the decor with pieces from our own home and vintage stores, Justin making custom signs, me sewing bunting, and even our favours of local honey to "Spread the Love" — Justin and I were very much a team in creating our perfect day.
My wedding dress was purchased with all the proceeds going to cancer research. We were married by a family friend between two wine barrels between the vines of a winery. We are so lucky that we have such an amazing family and group of friends that saw our vision and put all their love into making this day even more special for us. The desserts and cake were made by our beautiful mothers, as well as picking and arranging the flowers for the day. My makeup and hair was done by a talented friend, whose grandmother was the brilliant seamstress of the dress. Another friend surprised us with her grandfather's beautifully restored 1929 Ford truck for photos, as well as a hand-cut Just Married sign for our car.
We spent the day prior to the wedding at the venue to set up the grounds and string up our outdoor lights ourselves. The locations provided the most beautiful views and dream backdrops for us to get ready and celebrate in. We set up bocce ball, croquet, badminton and a photo backdrop area for our guests. Justin surprised me with the most beautiful song he wrote for me, which he performed after dinner which — one of my favourite and most special DIYs of the night (and I'm pretty sure ever). It was the most perfect day, and we love and will both cherish the memories for ever.
