From the Bride… Our wedding was relaxing, unforgettable and blessed. We had personalized koozies made for the alcoholic beverages, and my mom made homemade grape jelly as the wedding favors. At the reception, we had burlap on the tables and a banner that read Happily Ever After. We were introduced at the reception to “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.” We had fried chicken tenders and shrimp and grits as part of the meal. For our flowers, I wanted chic romantic. Lots of neutral color tones with a small punch of color — ivory, pale yellow, soft pinks, greenery, browns. Very flowy, timeless and romantic. You get tired of a lot of color, but neutrals stay in style forever, and you never get tired of neutrals! My cake was by Cecilia Villaveces. I had a two-tier vanilla cake with alternating layers of strawberry and raspberry filling. I also had two round cakes beside it — one was caramel and the other was chocolate mocha. It gave everyone plenty of options. The most memorable moment of the day was exchanging our vows. Most people say they don’t remember much about the day. I can truly say I remember a great deal. I took myself back a bit so that I could relax and enjoy the day. We did a first glance, so the nerves were gone, but honestly, when you know you are marrying the love of your life, what’s there to be nervous about? Maybe the dating for 10 years helped out too!
