And one last dose of pretty from Studio 272 before you head off into your weekend…
From Olivia of Olivia Leigh Photographie… To give you a very brief overview, Diana and Mike were married in July in Chicago at Salvage One, an awesome vintage furniture and salvage store on the west side of the city. Diana and Mike met at Second City here in Chicago, a fact that would not surprise anyone after meeting this hilarious couple! They are such a fun couple who love to laugh and make jokes. Diana even started off her vows with a Dr. Dre quote. Beyond the humor, however, lay a very deep connection between them, which rose to the surface on this day. It ended up being a perfect day mixed with whimsy and laughter, as well as romance and emotion.
Diana looked gorgeous in her Reem Acra gown, sprinkled with crystals, while Mike looked dapper in his suit. They gave each other gifts before the ceremony — Mike gave Diana a vintage jewelry box that had her in tears, and Diana gave Mike a custom drawing of them. They did a first look on one of the magnificent and well-known bridges over the Chicago River, and we took pictures around town, at their venue, and in a favorite restaurant. They were married outside in Salvage One’s quirky courtyard, where the ceremony incorporated elements of Diana’s Mexican heritage with readings in Spanish and English and a Mexico lasso tradition.
Escort cards were macarons that Mike hand-wrote all the labels for, and mason jars and rustic blooms provided the perfect decor for the celebration. A stunning cake took center stage with a tone-on-tone design that was just gorgeous!
