I am dying over this first image by Blue Lane Studios and pretty much every other photo to follow in this romantic lake house engagement shoot! The blue and red are such a classic color combination and just pop against the Florida marsh. I feel like this could be a love story pulled out of any time period from the 40s to the 60s to today. So sweet! See it all in the full gallery!

From Carolina & Zekeshem of Blue Lane Studios… Our engagement shoot was inspired by the idea of a budding romance at a lake house. We wanted to incorporate elements of innocent, fun love with a slightly vintage feel. When we first spoke with Emily of Emily Grace Design, we pitched her our ideas and her eyes lit up when she informed us that she had the perfect location: her family’s lake house in Ocala! We almost fell out of our seats with excitement! It really was a match made in heaven!
We nailed down a date that worked for all the vendors involved and everyone made the early morning (6 a.m.!), hour and a half trek up to Ocala (some of us from Tampa, the others from Orlando). As we drove up, our hearts started to sink as we noticed that the further north we traveled, the darker, gloomier and rainier that it got. With so many people involved there was no turning back … and we accepted the challenge to shoot in the rain and still come up with amazing images. It actually drizzled for 75% of our shoot! We stood under umbrellas while shooting to protect our gear, while Danielle and Robert (our amazing Not Couple!) braved the elements. They were completely enthusiastic and up for anything we asked them to do, even lying down in the rain on marshy lake weeds! The heavy cloud cover made for some beautiful soft light, giving our day a cool and moody feel.
We wanted our images to tell the story of Danielle and Robert’s “Day at the Lake House” — hanging out on the cozy porch and sipping coffee, snuggling in for some early morning kisses, sneaking away for some alone time in the lake brush, exploring the abandoned property down the street, going for a mid-afternoon rowboat ride, and being fun and flirtatious in the water! Danielle and Robert definitely helped us to convey the sense of freedom, fun, romance and passion that we were looking for!
