From Sonia of XOXO BRIDE... Oh my goodness, love me some Sarah and Matty! The day I met them, I fell in love. Sarah's eyes sparkled when she talked about Matty and their wedding. And who would have known that Matty, the strong silent type, was a funnyman with words! His humor was crisp, precise and definitely a footnote at the wedding. Sarah was inspired by love and all things beautiful.
So it was settled, a storybook love was the inspiration to their wedding. Nico of NLC Productions expertly provided us each of the floral scenes that depicted exactly what we had envisioned. Behind the bride and groom stood Nico's beautiful iron gates, exposing the Santa Barbara harbor view of sunset. A petite vanity with expressive blooms was the ideal decor at their ceremony. Sarah, a true DIYer, spray painted books and wooden numbers in our color palette, which we in turn used as table numbers. I wanted a special feeling for their sweetheart table, so we pulled from Nico's amazing collection of goodies a vintage writing desk that I paired with Restoration Hardware dining chairs from my own stash. I couldn't help but choose the obvious for seating cards by recreating book markers for the guests. My good friend Donna Small of The Source & Eye provided us the amazing vintage account register to host the markers. Guests were greeted as they arrived inside the country club with Nico's stunning display of various-sized bird cages and floral blooms that hovered above the account register.
In keeping with Matty's humor, Zenadia Designs created ad-lib RSVP cards, which I couldn't resist displaying at the cocktail hour. I used my over-sized birdcage and strung each of the cards for guests to enjoy. Outbursts of laughter were heard all night! Amelia Lyon, in all her talents, beautifully captures the days warmth and love. Her detailed eye caught moments of truth, love and laughter giving us these amazing images. Sarah and Matty are now creating the next chapter to their storybook love. Congratulations!
