From the Bride… Jeff and I wanted our wedding to reflect us and to be something unique and fun for all of our friends and family. Shortly after we got engaged, we decided to choose Kerrville, Texas, for our wedding destination because this hill country town means so much to us. My family has a ranch house in Kerrville, and for the past five years we have been visiting together with our best friends. Living and working full-time in Houston, we knew it would be a challenge planning our wedding out of town, but luckily we found our brilliant event designer, Tricia Hamil, to take our vision and bring it to life to create our dream wedding day. In looking for a reception venue in Kerrville, we knew we wanted something tented, outdoors and in an open area under the stars. My dad and step-mom were married at Riverhill Country Club in 2007, and as soon as we walked onto the property we knew this was where we had to have our reception too. I told Tricia the look we were going for was hill country-chic, and I have always loved vintage style and knew we had to incorporate that into our big day too. Tricia worked with me on every detail, including picking our exquisite flowers, farmhouse wooden tables and the menu that reflected us and our favorite foods: sushi and fried pickles! She pulled incredible vintage furniture and small detailed pieces together to create a beautiful cocktail hour complete with a Texas country band and created an amazingly chic and gorgeous space in our clear tent for the reception.
Our ceremony was a traditional Catholic mass at the lovely Notre Dame Catholic Church located on historic Main Street in Kerrville. This church was built in the early 1900s, and the wooden beams and stained-glass windows created a perfect setting for our ceremony. We were also very blessed to find Traci and Kellie with Anne Marie Photography and Sam and Lisa Blanco with Elite Cinematic Productions who both captured our day so well! Having all of our family and friends together in one room to celebrate with us was an unbelievable feeling I can’t even describe. Everyone celebrated and danced into the late hours of the night, and Jeff and I couldn’t have been happier with how perfectly blissful our day was.
