From Amini ConceptsWhat is it about vintage weddings that makes them so irresistible? We had so much fun working with Troy and Fiona on their wedding. With Fiona having a flair in graphic design, the ideas were just limitless. There is nothing like ensuring your guests are a part of making your day special, and Fiona and Troy wanted to make sure of that. With a vintage typewriter station, fingerprint tree, sparkler station, abundant dessert bar and a vintage bi-fold door photo station (not to forget the moustache and lips props), it was like we were setting up a small fair for their guests to enjoy and have fun. With soft antique hues of blush blooms and the contrast of red apples set amongst the glow of a warmly-lit room, the ambience and atmosphere truly made for a night to remember.

From the Bride… Five things that made my wedding day special to me would be: Marrying my soul mate, sharing the day with all our closest friends and family and dancing the night away with them – there was a lot of love in the room, the speeches that brought a few tears to my eyes, my father/daughter dance with my dad, the kind compliments that all our guests kept saying to me about how amazing everything looked and just the whole day in itself! Magical, amazing, perfect.

The ceremony room was definitely just as important for us styling-wise as the reception room. We really wanted our guests to go on a journey on our day, and the ceremony was the first destination! Our ceremony was very personal — we wanted to have a unique ritual within the ceremony, so we chose to write a note on a vintage handkerchief of what we were feeling at that exact moment on our special day, we then posted the note in a letterbox (my dad made this for me – he is brilliant!). Each of our parents did this also, we are going to open the envelopes and read what we all wrote on our first anniversary. We chose to go with a rustic/vintage theme, as Troy and I both love anything from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. Our family heritage is outback country so that’s where the rustic came into it. We wanted to incorporate a country feel to our day without going crazy with hay bales and red and white check everywhere. We decided the best way to incorporate this was with wood, sticks and moss. I was a little worried at first that the vintage and rustic themes would clash, but they turned out absolutely perfect and beautiful. I couldn’t fault a single thing! We LOVED the styling – Amini did a FAB job!
