I made myself take a big, deep breath before I started to try to describe this wedding. My head was spinning with details and adjectives – flowers, gorgeous, bride, fabulous, groom, handsome, California, amazing, soft, elegant, romantic. It was pretty, pretty chaos, but oh-so-good. That’s what happens when my eyes land on a wedding THIS fantastic with florals from Isari Flower Studio. I swoon over every gorg image from John Schnack Photography until I am rendered speechless. And then I give you the full image gallery. So I’m not the only one.
Right before Matt and I set the date for our wedding, we were informed that he would be temporarily stationed in Pensacola, FL for six months to begin a pilot training program in the US Navy. I didn’t want to spend the next six months apart, but I had a wedding to plan in my hometown of San Diego. I decided I had to kick it into gear and plan everything within two weeks before our scheduled move. My first contact was Tam at Isari Flower Studio in coastal Solana Beach. At this point, I had nothing: no dress, no venue, no cake, and no idea what I wanted in the area of flowers and decor. Walking into her studio I knew I had stumbled onto something really special. Her beautiful studio captivated me and she understood my vision instantly. My next stop was meeting my wedding coordinator, Catherine Bachelier Smith of CBS Lifestylist. Together with Tam Ashworth, Catherine’s knowledge and connections we had the wedding details ironed out within my allotted two weeks, It was so simple and fun and I joined to Matt.
On the wedding day, we were excited to see how everything would fall into place. As sense of calm came over me as I knew I was marrying my best friend and I knew I had a team of professionals whom were looking out for me. The day was a whirlwind. It was surreal and thrilling and relieving all at the same time. From hair and make-up by Team Nicole in the early morning to cutting the cake (our not so usual Nothing Bundt Cakes) at the end of the evening hearing “my husband” thanking our guests for their never-ending love and support. My photographer, John Schnack from Schnack Studios captured the essence of us at the quaintly beautiful Crosby property. Music from our DJ, Dale Gottschalk of San Diego DJ & Video and a crackling fire roaring behind our sweetheart table, I was witnessing a Parisian, romantic, and candle-lit ballroom. Matt and I agreed to enjoy every morsel of our day and we did. We couldn’t have been happier on that day.
