Here at SMP, we have a list a mile long of different wedding styles we LOVE. Today we are definitely going to have to add Sweet Girly Romance to that list, because this Texas soiree has Sweet Girly Romance pouring out of every image from Krystle Akin Photography. Sweet Girly Romance in the broach bouquet, Sweet Girly Romance in the blushing bride, Sweet Girly Romance in the red, pink and purple decor. And Sweet Girly Romance in the gallery!
Chris and I went to high school together but we didn’t really get to know each other until we worked together at Inks Lake State Park. While in college, we would spend our summers back home in Burnet, TX working at the park store. After work we would go swimming, kayaking, and fishing and quickly fell in love. After five years together, Chris proposed. I was totally exhausted after a long day at work when Chris told me he had a surprise for me. Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE Dr. Pepper so when he said he had a surprise I immediately thought he had got me one. “It’s a big surprise,” he said. So, naturally, I was thinking, “Yes! Route 44 Dr. Pepper from Sonic!” He went into the bedroom to get the “surprise,” got on one knee, and gave me the best surprise of my life!!! Way better than a Dr. Pepper.
We chose Heritage Oaks Clubhouse because of the gorgeous wood floors and windows looking out onto the lovely pond behind the building. With a wedding in December, there is no predicting the weather so we wanted to make sure we had a big enough facility to accommodate everyone inside.
I guess the theme for the wedding was “romantic vintage bling”. I have always loved vintage jewelry and when I saw a brooch bouquet I fell in LOVE! After that, everything kind of snowballed into this rhinestone wonderland. My dress was lace with a sash that had rhinestones, the bride’s cake was done with rhinestones and some antique brooches, and I also incorporated the brooches with the bridesmaid bouquets. I’ve always found reds and purples romantic and great for a December wedding so I knew I wanted them to be my wedding colors. Everything really came together better than I could have hoped! It was the best day of my life and it couldn’t have been more perfect!
