From Mindy Weiss of Mindy Weiss Party Consultants… The shower took place in the conservatory at the Montage Hotel. It was given by my seven oldest and best-est friends for my daughter-in-law — they were all at my son’s baby shower 28 years ago as well. The wedding colors were creams, blues and greens, so the bride wanted a different color combination. Tali just loved yellow and gray combo (and I was dying to use a new linen from La Tavola), so it worked beautifully. I loved the black chiavaris with it. The bride loves joining me at flea markets every Sunday morning — we share the same passion for everything vintage with character. My girlfriends know I have a little bit of control issues, so they let me do my thing, and I was able to take each table and make it its own unique story. I choose a kitchen/ entertaining theme, and away I went to find fun props for the tables that the happy couple could use for their home as well. The cocktail napkins gave the exact amount of days until Tali said “I do.” There were 6 tables. Mark from Mark’s Garden took the props and turned the centerpieces into works of art and fantasy. Some of the flowers he used were yellow calla lilies, tulips and roses. Some were arranged inside the items below, while other just stayed within the florals.
1. Vintage “Fruit and Vegetable” Salt and Pepper Shakers
2. Vintage Martini Set
3. Vintage Pastel Pitcher with a Variety of Pastel Juice Glasses
4. Vintage Silver Canister Set
5. Vintage Spice Rack
6. Vintage Silver Cake Plate
The bride’s favorite part: 11 women were given a letter in her name, and they had to get up and choose a word that started with that letter to describe Tali. The ladies made darling plates with the letter for each to hold as they recited their words to Tali. Each woman was given a darling scarf/wrap that had a variety of cute umbrellas printed on it. Perfect ending to a lovely shower!
