From the Bride... There was something about the 4th November 2011 in Sydney that was just so perfect. With blue skies and balmy weather, I felt calm and content with everything that morning. As the day went on, I was amazed at how all the elements we worked so hard for came together so well. I was grinning from ear to ear every second of the day. Our priest was so warm and loving and presented our marriage so perfectly, and the vintage whimsical style we wanted seemed to come through easily.
A special part of the day was when my brother wrote a song and played it on his acoustic guitar when I walked down the aisle — it took all my strength not to break down with emotion right there in the middle of the aisle! Originally, I refused to have any type of pink in my wedding but as soon as my bridesmaids tried these dresses on we all fell in love, and it fit in perfectly! I wanted the girls to have different hairstyles and jewellery to suit their individual style, and I think it really helped the girls feel comfortable and look beautiful.
Cocktails were served to all our guests and a photo booth had people lining up all night and was used for our guestbook. The flowers were absolutely amazing! I wanted a big mixture of cute flowers, all different for each table. I had a different photo frame for each table number and bought some beautiful lace table runners and some birdcage lanterns. A chill-out area with vintage seats also styled our venue. The speeches were hilarious and emotional. We all deemed the reception 'the love bubble' because there was so much love in the room. Our guests ate with us in the close and intimate space of the mezzanine, and then later the dancing was downstairs in a loft style room with a bar, DJ, the chill-out area and beautiful large hanging globes with sparkling lights hanging above us. I chose marshmallows that were handmade and individually wrapped as our bomboniere. Our invitations were done by Kelli Murray, who is an amazing illustrator from California who I'm just quietly a little obsessed with! So I was so excited when she said she would do our drawing for the front of our invitation. Everything went so perfectly and I just didn't want it to end. I wanted to keep my beautiful dress and shoes on forever!
