From the Bride... I loved every moment of my wedding, but the first moment that stood out for me was just before walking down the aisle. We had the Mercedes School Choir, a pianist and a string trio for our ceremony music. We had chosen an arrangement of "November Rain" by Guns 'N' Roses for my processional. Being a child of the '90s, I have always loved that song, the film clip and always dreamed of a “rock star” entrance like that. It could not have been more perfect. I was pretty calm and collected until the music started, then the nerves really set in! We also had an a cappella version of 'I Say a Little Prayer' as our recessional and a beautiful version of "Something" by the Beatles sung by the choir and accompanied by the string trio and pianist. The musicians were so good, they almost stole the show! The best part of my wedding was seeing Matt at the altar for the first time. As much as you try to prepare yourself for “That Moment,” you still have no idea how exciting it is, until you are standing there, gazing into the eyes of your husband-to-be.  A very close second was of course, the dress.  Liza Emanuele did an amazing job! Being a traditionalist at heart, I had to have something old, new, borrowed and blue. I wore my late Nanna's engagement ring as something old. Unfortunately she died a few months before the wedding, but having the ring so close to me all day made me feel like she was there. For something borrowed, I borrowed a lace hanky from my Auntie that she had on her wedding day.

Matt and I are both quite creative, so this played out in many aspects of our wedding. I scoured Style Me Pretty for months and found most of my DIY online. We decided to go for a chic and vintage theme. We used accents of rustic birdcages throughout Carrick Hill and as table centrepieces. The colour theme was based around the bridesmaid’s dresses of pale pink, yellow, green, blue and lavender. The flowers also represented the vintage theme, emulating an English garden with lots of peonies of course! We had a photo booth, with a custom-made backdrop, a delicious candy table with loads of sweet treats and vintage games of croquet and bocce to play on the lawns of Carrick Hill. The beautiful Emily of White Room Events brought all these together.

Holly from Lotus Flowers created all of the flowers for my wedding. She knew exactly what I wanted with my flowers and was a pleasure to work with. The wedding bouquets were a mixture of various flowers that consisted mainly of peonies (my favourite flower) and David Austin roses. My bouquet was an assortment of white flowers, while the bridesmaids' bouquets were various colours to match their dresses. The colour scheme of the bridesmaids' flowers was also carried through to the reception. We had different centrepieces for each table at the reception. We had an assortment of birdcages with surrounding coloured flowers and larger centrepieces with beautiful blue delphinium to give extra height and dimension.
