Wonderland Inspired Wedding by Rosemary Hattenbach + Eden Rodriguez

It's no secret that we are crazy for gorgeous weddings. Weddings full of love and laughter and beautiful details never hurt either. When that's all wrapped up into one event, it's like the trifecta of the wedding world. Lucky us, we have just such a wedding courtesy of Rosemary Hattenbach of Rosemary Events who together with Eden Rodriguez of End Design crafted a fanciful Healdsburg affair centered around the Bride's favorite book...Alice in Wonderland. It's jewel tones meets insanely gorgeous tablescapes meets the prettiest of paper goods by Mira Aster and all of it was captured beautifully by Julie Mikos. So much so that there is an overflow of pretty pictures happening in the gallery. You can also see more of this affair in the Winter 2012 issue of San Francisco Brides on stands now.

From Rosemary of Rosemary Events... When Desiree and Jarrod came to me to plan their wedding, they wanted their marriage to take place on the 13th of October, exactly 13 years from the day that they had met. They wanted to celebrate by treating the 25 most special people in their lives to an intimate wedding experience like no other. The couple, who lives in Texas, envisioned a whimsical, dream-like wedding in the California wine country inspired by one of Desiree's favorite books, Alice in Wonderland. Once we found their dream location at a private estate overlooking the gorgeous Russian River Valley in Healdsburg, everything started to fall into place. Desiree loves high fashion, and the couple was up for "pushing the envelope" a bit, so we decided on a palette of gorgeous jewel tones and let our imaginations run wild. We came up with the kind of colorful dreamscape one might expect to see on the pages of Vogue. Somewhere along the way, Desiree fell in love with a cute black and white dress from BCBG for her bridesmaids, and we added black and white to the palette. For the invitations, Anne Millett of Mira Aster crafted a whimsical letter printed on bold jewel-toned paper. Keeping with the intimacy of the event, each was individually personalized and stitched to a colorful floral fabric backing that Desiree had chosen. The set included an accompanying booklet of travel information and was posted with colorful vintage stamps.

The wedding day was a beautiful fall day in the Wine Country. It began with the guests being driven in luxury vans on a scenic drive to the hilltop Estate. On arrival, they were greeted in the “Hidden Garden” with refreshing glasses of melon agua fresca and citrus iced tea that were set amidst a fanciful display of flowers and antique trinkets. They relaxed on the patio and soaked in the view until sunset, when guests were escorted to the terrace for the wedding ceremony set overlooking the Russian River valley. Colorful ribbon hung from the surrounding oak and olive trees waved in the breeze as the bridal party entered. Desiree and Jarrod exchanged vows in a personal ceremony officiated by Debra Carpenter. Guests tossed red rose petals as the married couple made their way up the aisle. Following the ceremony, everyone mingled and enjoyed champagne and passed hors d’oeuvres prepared by Sage Catering.

For dinner, guests were seated at a stunning wood plank table under an arbor and set with gorgeous jewel toned florals, candles, black and white china and beautiful gold rimmed crystal. Brightly colored custom-stitched menus in a whimsical design of stripes and polka dots from Mira Aster graced each setting. Sage Catering prepared a candlelight family style feast of the couple's favorites, and the intimate dinner was filled with laughter and toasting. The couple kicked off the post dinner festivities with dance to Keith Urban’s “Only You Could Love Me this Way” and guests lingered while Megan Slankard and Jeff Campbell performed more indie favorites by the light of hundreds of candles.  The evening came to a sweet finish with sampling of delicious and beautifully decorated petite cakes created by Cake Coquette.  It was a truly magical evening!
