From the Bride… This was a major DIY project for me! I spent 11 months gathering ideas from different blogs, trying to capture the exact “look” I wanted. In the end, I just went with my heart and chose a variety of different looks. The result was a perfect example of John and me. We both wanted something unique with a mixture of soft and bold, new and old. With the help of my beautiful bridesmaids and my parents, we made 60 individual succulent name tags, vintage book decorations, yarn chandeliers, chalkboard menu and drink boards, and a super cute, book-themed, postcard sign-in table. You name it, we probably made it. My step-dad married us, and halfway through the ceremony, he began to cry. It was so moving and sweet that literally every person there was crying tears of joy. Everything about that day was perfect. We really feel that our friends are our family, so we decided to have two kings tables that fit thirty people each so we could all sit close together. We sat under the stars in the yard and enjoyed delicious a Southern-Coastal cuisine of shrimp and grits, crab cakes and pecan-crusted chicken with homemade Southern sweet tea vodka to wash it down with. By the time dancing came, it turned into a true party. We all played DJ and had dance-offs with each other. The weather was breezy and beautiful, the guests were SO happy to see us finally tie the knot after seven years, and our darling daughter was the best flower girl ever. The wedding was a dream come true for us and a wonderful memory to look back on.
