From Carla of Carla Ten EyckMartin and I were in the same Photo 1 class at Rochester Institute of Technology back in 1991 and have remained close friends EVER SINCE! I have since photographed three of our classmate’s weddings all over the country, and Martin was the last one in our group to be married. One of the group photos is all of our friends from RIT with our spouses. To be a part of his wedding was an incredible honor. You will see a lot of me in the photos, as I was both a guest and the photographer! I brought in my reinforcements, the amazing Mike Romano and super sweet Julie Morawski, so I could do double duty. The highlight of the day was the impromptu stop at the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park in the city. The Shake Shack was so sweet, and brought over a celebratory prosecco on the house!

From Dawn + Melina of DM Events… We fell in love with Pam & Martin’s creativity right from the start!  Their style of Scandinavian-meets-Valentine’s Day was totally unique, and we had a blast creating their special day. They are both creative people, so we knew we had to really account for every design detail. We started with a totally white palette – white chairs, white linen, white chargers, white flowers. Then we added small, but bold, pops of color in the chair and table number designs – possibly our two favorite elements! The table numbers were created using arrangements of candles in the center of the table on a red lacquer tray wrapped with gunmetal stationery bearing a painted number. We love that Pam and Martin trusted us to go outside the box to create a centerpiece without flowers! To soften the look, we added a grouping of lush white flowers to either side of the table number and filled it in with tons of candles! Hanging from the back of each white chair, we added a strand of red hearts — we are not sure this could have been any sweeter. With a wedding three days before Valentine’s Day, romance was certainly in the air.

As we worked on other details for the big day, we all kept talking about our love of the red lacquer trays, so we knew we were going to need more of them!  In order to keep the simplicity of the design intact, we decided to use them sparingly, placing them on the escort card to display the amazing seating chart from Paperfinger and on the dessert bar (which was totally yummy!). The best part of the night was seeing Pam and Martin on the dance floor — at the end of the day, having fun with the one you love is what weddings are all about!
