Seriously sweet and beyond charming, this gorgeous British Columbia affair by Bartek & Magda is one of the loveliest weddings I have ever seen. Yep, with beautiful blooms by Vivio Flower Gallery, dreamy mountain views, TWO fabulous dresses and the prettiest of orange and pale red hues, it's no wonder I've spent my entire morning swooning over all of this lovely. Plus, with image after image of the ADORABLE couple filling the gallery, I think I'll spend my entire weekend swooning, too. Join me there for more!

From the Bride & Groom... Our colors came from our company's logo (we own a little nature/hiking equipment store!). The orange to pale red colour has always been Bobo's favourite, and it was also inspired by her favourite movie by Hayao Miyazaki, "Spirited Away." The theme music from the movie also played as she walked down the aisle. For flowers, we wanted something to go with the season. We wanted something natural looking so we worked with Patricia from Vivio and came up with the perfect arrangement. The flowers Bobo received during the piano session were an homage to the ones from "Spirited Away." Although it's unrelated to that part of the movie, the flowers represented the phrase "I'm here to save you and take you home."
The french croquembouche was something Bobo really loves so we spent some time designing it with our friend Welbert. He is a pastry chef and designs the dessert menu at O'Douls Restaurant & Bar in Vancouver. We told him some ideas, theme colours and the central theme of our wedding (nature), and he came up with a surprisingly beautiful and delicious wedding cake! Welbert said he woke up at 4 a.m. to prepare the cake so it would be fresh and hold together well. There were two flavours in the "puff," dark chocolate and hazelnut. The bird nest/tree twigs was all his idea, and we admire him for his creativity and hard work.
My great brothers and sisters from our church, Westwood Alliance Church, did all the decorations. The table list on the chalk board was drawn free-hand by Bobo's maid of honour. All our tables are "numbered" by places Bobo and I traveled together and wish to go soon. As for the picture sticking at the back of those mini chalkboards, it was just a silly idea to cover the back of the ugly unfinished part of the little boards. We tested a few and liked it so immediately all our friends started cropping and cutting photos and it became another improvised project. The candy bar was also put together by our friends. It was quite a hit and we didn't know our guests would love it so much … there was barely anything left at the end of the night! For the invitations and programs, Bobo came up with the concept and they was designed by Tin (the groom) and Sanny (the decoration lead). From the beginning we really wanted to print our wedding invitations done with a traditional letter press. When David and Yasmine of Black Stone Press showed us samples, we fell in love! Yasmine was really helpful and patient with us through the whole design process. One of the common themes in our wedding is trees. We love the idea representing our loved ones with trees and when they're all together they make up a beautiful forest. This reflects the meaning of our wedding and our life, where we are surrounded by love of our closes ones which fits beautifully into the theme of nature!
