Get ready folks, we have a whole new version of the tried and true mason jar and this baby is painted a glistening gold which just might be the best rendition we’ve ever come across. Erin of Bustle Events took the idea of rustic and added a decidedly modern twist with fluffy cotton and wood flowers by Floral Theory, adorable striped kraft bags and a few antlers for good measure. From Erin of Bustle Events… Shelby and Josh let me know at our first meeting that family and friends are very important to them, so I wanted to make sure to incorporate this into their big day. I also wanted to keep the details in line with their effortless beauty. The event took place at Shelby’s grandmother and grandfather’s old house. Her grandparents had recently passed away, and she wanted to have her wedding in her grandfather’s “trophy” room before they sold the house. The “trophy” room was where all of her grandfather’s deer, moose and other taxidermy hung as trophies from his many hunting trips.
Shelby and Josh exchanged vows in front of a huge stone fireplace in the center of the room. It was warm and romantic, perfect for a winter wedding. When planning the details, we wanted to keep it very relaxed. Yasmin from Floral Theory kept the bridal party florals effortless but rich in texture. The girls carried bouquets with single notes, all finished with gray wired wool — blush astilbe for the bride, and clusters of ivory tallow berry branches for the bridesmaids. The men were adorned with a single boll of raw cotton. And the centerpieces were so perfect for the winter! She spray painted mason jars gold and filled them with clusters of raw cotton bolls and sola wood flowers for a soft, cozy feel. The centerpieces were then placed on top of a stack of wooden disks cut from tree trunks. I made the yarn table numbers and just leaned them against the gold masons. Additional details included antlers, a hot chocolate bar, bridesmaids in boots and socks, a dessert buffet and blankets. As a designer, I love mixing different textures to achieve a vision. Shelby and Josh’s wedding was full of texture, much of which echoed the warmth of the winter season.
