Lake Oak Meadows Wedding by leila brewster

leila brewster is one of my absolute favorite photographers. Not only is her work drop-dead gorgeous but each one of her photographs embodies a layer of fun and whimsy. She brings to life that moment where the Bride is beaming while saying her vows or the flower girls are skipping and singing after the ceremony. These are the images that we adore; the moments in between the big stuff. (Of course, we also adore the big stuff!) See the big, the small and all the in between right here.

From the bride... The day before the wedding, Raneath and I turned to one another and reiterated that no matter what happened on the day of our wedding, we just had to remember to enjoy ourselves. Regardless of whether or not something went wrong, it was going to be too late to fix it anyway. Luckily for us, everything went as planned, and our wedding day was perfect.

As far back as I can remember, I had always wanted to have an outdoor wedding. To me, there has always been something very romantic about being able to dance the night away under a blanket of stars and having the entire place lit with lanterns and candles, so that was exactly what we did. We wanted the venue to speak for itself and decided to keep our décor as simple as possible while instilling a romantic and vintage feel. The grounds at Lake Oak Meadows were so naturally beautiful that we didn’t want to overdo it with elaborate centerpieces. Instead, each table had a simple arrangement of different bright red flowers in a square glass vase wrapped with a skinny blue ribbon and votive candles in frosted glass holders. We were also very fortunate to have our talented friend, Sophia Ty, take care of all our paper designs. She helped us to create a unique design scheme, which we used throughout the wedding that really helped to set the vintage theme that we were hoping for.

I was also very lucky to have my sister and maid of honor, Cathy Tann, as my hair and make-up artist that day because the moment Raneath turned around and hugged me during our “first look,” I cried so hard that my makeup and lashes came half undone! It was a good thing Cathy was on hand to touch me up and helped me feel beautiful again! Like most brides, the wedding day flew by so quickly that I’m glad to have pictures to look back on. Leila Brewster did such an amazing job capturing all the little moments throughout the day that I feel like I didn’t miss out on a thing…
