Tarpy's Roadhouse Wedding by Charmed Events Group

California weddings have a way of capturing our hearts. It never fails. When we have a Golden State gem in the cue, we prepare ourselves for a little head-over-heels trip to the land of gorgeous. Today's trip comes in the form of an ultra-romantic Monterey affair crafted from beginning to end by Charmed Events Group. It's boasting a mesmerizing color palette of hazy pastel hues and a whole lot of camera magic by the wildly talented Gladys Jem Photography. This is indeed a great way to start a Monday. From Frances of Charmed Events Group... Guemmy and Howard's love story is one that unfolds like a fairytale. Guemmy was working abroad in Japan and right when she thought she was done with working internationally, she met Howard the night before her flight back to the states. After a night of conversations and laughing, Guemmy extended her stay, and soon the two were an item. Since Guemmy had already re-located her work to the States, she and Howard had a long distance relationship. After almost two years of this long distance love, they decided that they wanted to be with one another once and for all and got engaged!

Guemmy and Howard really wanted their wedding to be a true reflection of who they are.The location that they chose for their intimate celebration was Tarpy's Roadhouse in Monterey, California. We pulled in a light color palette to match the "secret garden" feeling of the venue and decided that sage green, peach, strawberry pink and summer yellow were the perfect blend.  Because 100% of their guests flew in from out of country, they wanted to make the wedding feel as homey and sweet as possible, so we hand-made pillows in modern garden prints to place on the chairs at the ceremony. Guests were served a variety of the bride and groom's favorite snacks for hors d'oeuvres, such as mac and cheese, mini meatballs, and chips and salsa.  Guest escort cards were whimsically hung from a wall of ivy with pastel colored ribbons hanging from different heights while the sweet notes of a Spanish guitarist filled the evening air.

For the reception, guests were seated either in Tokyo or Sunnyvale, which represented the location points of their long distance love. Each guest place setting had a handkerchief napkin with a customized menu tied with lavender and twine that greeted them. We added color to the table not only with a variety of soft garden flowers, baby's breath and wild flowers for color, we also used all of the colors of our color palette for all of the stationery for the reception, in which we monochromatically alternated per guest seating. We had lots of candles and hanging lanterns in the reception tavern to create the feeling of romance. Dinner was warm and cozy, as it was purely a gathering of their closest friends and immediate family. Guests were treated to a fabulous dessert bar, which included a kettle popcorn bar (one of the couple's food obsessions), mini apple and pumpkin pies, cake pops, and a small cake for the newlyweds. The dessert bar was a great treat for the guests because most of them had never seen or heard of the concept of a dessert bar. Guests were given favors of "cupcakes in a jar" with the couple's favorite flavors: chocolate peanut butter and strawberry shortcake.
