From the bride... Herrick and I have known each other since we were 13 years old.  I never would have imagined the day we met that the shy boy standing in front of me would one day become my husband. After dating for 7 years, we were married on July 18, 2010, in an intimate ceremony in Laguna Beach. Herrick and I both agree that our wedding day was absolutely the best day of our lives. We were so lucky to have been able to share this day with our beloved family and friends. Our parents were so laid back and that really made wedding planning so stress free. One of my favorite moments from our wedding was the opening speeches. Our dads delivered the most touching speeches during the reception. It was truly a special moment and added such a sense of warmth and family to the festivities.

After we got engaged, Herrick and I sat back for a good two months and just enjoyed being engaged.  It even took me awhile to get used to calling Herrick my fiancé! We decided that we were interested in getting married the following summer which only gave us eight months to plan. After doing some initial research and realizing how complicated wedding planning could be, we quickly hired our amazing wedding planner Uyen. Herrick and I were interested in having an intimate wedding by the beach. After scouting a bunch of locations, we finally found the perfect venue at the Pacific Edge Villa. We kept the guest count low and only had 78 guests as we wanted a very personal experience. We felt so special to be surrounded by the love and support of our closest family and friends. Since Herrick and I have both lived in Southern California most our lives and love the ocean so much, getting married at the beach just felt so natural. The venue played such a huge role in our wedding. Both the ceremony and reception were held outdoors on the deck which offered a stunning backdrop for the festivities. My favorite part of the venue was listening to the waves crash while we read our vows. We were able to stay at the villa on our wedding night and woke up as husband and wife staring over our balcony at the beach and enjoying the cool ocean breeze.

One of the most fun parts of wedding planning was the different vendor meetings. Our favorites were the tastings! We decided to have a restaurant cater our wedding, and it was so great to be able to customize our menu. We selected An Catering for their Euro-Asian fusion cuisine. We also did cocktail tastings as we wanted his and hers signature cocktails at the reception. Herrick ended up choosing a muddled berry cocktail that we named the "Herrickane" and I choose a sweet guava cocktail called "Tina on the Beach!"
