Backyard Wedding by Skye Blu Photography + Elysium Productions

Vintage garden weddings are the ultimate in romance. They’re always dreamy, filled to the tippy-top with that fresh-picked floral look and usually end with eating and dancing by moonlight.  We can’t think of one thing wrong with that list. Skye Blu Photography captured every beautiful moment of this Ocean meets garden fête and let just say that vintage lovers and dog lovers are going to go CRAZY pants over this number. All you wedding lovers will too. It’s THAT good. See it all here.

And as dreamy and elegent and all around swoon-worthy as this wedding is, just wait until you see the film by Elysium Productions. It is sending this shindig right to the top of our favorites list.

From the bride… I’ve always loved vintage garden settings, flowers, and antique keys. My favorite books growing up were The Secret Garden & Anne of Green Gables. My parents have a beautiful large antique hutch that uses those types of vintage keys. We wanted a small family wedding and a fun party with our close friends to celebrate. Dear friends of the Sims family, the Hogan’s, were so gracious to open their home for us to celebrate our wedding ceremony and party with friends. It is a beautiful home on the bayfront on the Balboa Peninsula. It could not have been more perfect and special. We had the dinner a couple blocks away at the Sims House, which is so meaningful. Scott grew up there … and was a perfect intimate setting for our families.

Of course we had to have our sweet Riley, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever, looking very handsome in his bow tie & cuffs. We did put a lot of work into the homemade projects. Very fun though! My mom, Laura, and I made the jeweled gray felt napkin holders, the place cards, the dessert to-go boxes, the coffee cups, etc. I transferred about 90 photographs into black & white in all different shapes & sizes and found silver frames to fit, some matte, some shiny, some blingy… They were of Scott growing up, me growing up, our families, and us together. Our house looked like a wedding craft store for 3 months!
