From the bride… Having grown up in San Clemente, the Casa Romantica had always been my ideal dream wedding. A historic Ole Hansen building with a classic romantic feel, placed on top of a bluff with a spectacular 180-degree view of the ocean that overlooks the beautiful San Clemente pier… what more could you ask for? My husband and I met at San Clemente High School and dated for over 9 years before getting married. When he popped the question in March 2010, I had no idea where to start. I searched random wedding websites but when my now sister-in-law, who was also planning a wedding at the time, introduced me to Style me Pretty, I absolutely fell in love.
We decided on a soft succulent green and light pastel rose with hints of yellow for our color palette. My amazing mother took on the task of creating the most creative elegant centerpieces I have ever seen as well as the majority of decorations, which we worked on together. Many of our decoration ideas centered around our beautiful invitations, which were designed by my talented sister-in-law who is also a graphic designer. We pulled many of the elements of the invitations, like the monogram and a strip from the floral background to tie together our DIY decorations. To pull together my vision of a classic romantic feel, I wore items from three generations of women in my family: my great-grandmother’s pearl necklace, my grandmother’s pearl earrings and my mother’s wedding veil for the ceremony. To bring a little bit of my own style, I tied in a beautiful Tessa Kim cream rose hair accessory. Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful. My husband’s groomsman’s father that he has known from childhood officiated our wedding. This truly brought a special touch to our ceremony.
For the reception, we offered a photo booth, which was a hit, and a game room with a Wii. The Wii was set up in the bridal room and was the perfect activity before and after the ceremony. Rather than sitting around waiting anxiously for the ceremony to begin my bridesmaids and I played Just Dance — it was a blast! To get the night started, we kicked off the dance floor with a family dance to the Cha Cha Slide — it was a great way to get all of our guests on the dance floor, and there they stayed. 6-11-11 was the best day of my life; I married my best friend and had an amazing time celebrating with the people that matter most to us, our friends and family.
