There is something about the highlight film sent our way by Hello Tomorrow Wedding Films from this Texas wedding that is calm. It’s emotionally charged, yes. It’s beautifully styled, yes. But it is so calm. Just two people, making the most important vows they will ever make. And that is why we have been dying to share this wedding, photographed by Tara Swain Photography, with you this lovely first Saturday of 2012.
I can already feel my smile widening…

Denman and I met through mutual friends. A little after a year of dating, I came home to a cardboard maze in my apartment. I had to find my way through, feed a “caged beast” (aka my dog), and even move walls before I finally made it to the end. As Denman is in the middle of asking those important four little words, my dog broke free of her cage and made her way through the maze to find us! She wanted to join in on the celebration.
We decided to have our wedding at a lake where Denman spent his summers growing up. They had just finished building a new clubhouse and it was the perfect place to hold our wedding. The groom’s cake was designed to look like Denman’s vintage boat. As we were cutting the bow of the boat, we broke the knife in half. We didn’t know it was made of rice krispies!
We chose to do a “first look” with our photographer and videographer, and I am so glad we did. It was an emotional experience, and I am so glad we have it captured on both film and in pictures. It really gave us time to be with each other and relax before the wedding.
