Horse Ranch Engagement Session by Lara Rios Fine Art Photography

This might possibly be the most chic engagement session we have ever seen.  It is gorgeous enough to be a magazine spread for Ralph Lauren and uber-romantic.  This handsome couple, decked out in picture-perfect riding attire, took a stroll on horseback followed by a steamy session with the prettiest of pretty green dresses.  Lara Rios Fine Art Photography captured all the stylish and starry-eyed moments in these Vogue-worthy images.  See them all in the full gallery!

From the Bride…Henry and I met during my last semester at Florida International University, a couple of months more and we would have missed each other.  It seems we did take a class together before we officially met where Henry says he noticed me but I didn’t give him the time of day.  Good thing I did pay attention later on because after almost five years of dating he proposed last December and we are getting married on April 14th, 2012.

We’ve wanted to incorporate both our tastes into all the details of the wedding.  The Engagement Session was no exception.  Henry grew up in a farm in his native Venezuela, where he learned how to ride a horse before he even walked!  Horses are very dear to him and so we decided to do an Equestrian photo shoot to showcase his love of these noble creatures (plus I thought it would look amazing on camera).

The first look was inspired by Ralph Lauren’s Romance ad campaign shot in Buenos Aires, one of our favorite cities in the world.  I am wearing Zara head to toe (shirt, riding pants and boots).  The second look we went for a more editorial feel and I am wearing a flowy green dress from the Fall 2011 Leon Max Collection and Henry is wearing an elegant black suit.  The Engagement Session was the perfect preamble to the wedding, since it was a very personal experience.

We want this to transcend into our wedding day and so we will incorporate traditions from our culture (Cuban/Venezuelan) such as a traditional Catholic ceremony in Spanish and a Cotillon or Crazy Hour during the reception, which is when the music really picks up and guests are handed out props to dance with as if they were in a carnaval.  At the end we hope that our personalities shine through and that everyone enjoys themselves to the fullest on this, the most special of days, our wedding.
