Wrap It Up Pretty Little Black Book!

Well it’s time to unplug, and rush to the homes filled with joy, laughter, and cheer that are waiting for us. We did decide to throw in one last Holiday DIY project for you – don’t worry, it’s easy enough to get a few of these made before Santa shows up, and fabulous enough to put together a few more and use them as your winter wedding centerpieces! This DIY came our way from the creative lady behind MMD Events, and we think it’s the perfect way to send you out into your festive weekend. Make sure to be extra merry & bright this weekend, and we’ll be back Monday to discuss presents. xoxo

You will need glass cylinder vases (in varying sizes), the fabric of your choosing (felt and wool are cozy choices, and mismatched patterns look chic when kept in the same color family), No-Sew double sided fabric tape, and fabric scissors.

Start by trimming the fabric to fit the size of the cylinder allowing for a half inch seam allowance for the top and bottom of the cylinder and side seam. Lay your fabric flat – you should be looking at a long rectangle. Next, cut small pieces of no sew tape and tape them to the upper right hand and lower right hand corners of the fabric. Press firmly and remove the sticker backing. Turn each corner down flat a quarter inch. You now have the start of your finished upper and lower edge.

Now line your cylinder up in the middle of your rectangle. Place two inches of tape horizontally both on the top and bottom edge – press firmly then remove the backing. Stick your finished edge to the top and bottom of the cylinder covering up only half the tape – when you push down you should have an inch of exposed tape and then your fabric begins. Wrap the fabric around the vase, turning down your top and bottom edges as you go (use more tape as needed). When you reach the other end there is no need to overlap. Adhere the fabric to the left over 1” strips of tape and trim off any remaining fabric.

Place flowers, candles, candies, or whatever else you want to display in your vases, and voila! You’ve just done a super quick, super cozy holiday centerpiece.
