Atlanta Wedding Film from Artworks Wedding Cinema + Lamar Gee Photography

We all know I’m a huge sap when it comes to wedding films. They get me every time. And I know that I can’t be the only one. The SMP offices are filled with saps like me – and judging from your comments on films of the past, a lot of you have the same sentimental gene. So when we received this Atlanta wedding film from Artworks Wedding Cinema, it was obvious that we had to share the smile-inducing, heart warming film with all our favorite people. But first – a little preview of the gorgeous wedding from Lamar Gee Photography. Click here for more!

Are you ready for your smiles to grow tenfold? Here is the film from Artworks Wedding Cinema!

Gozie and I met at a friend’s engagement party in 2007 and have been together ever since.  The last four years have been amazing!  Gozie proposed last September at my alma mater, Notre Dame, after a football game.  Although we had discussed marriage periodically up to that point, the proposal caught me completely off guard, which made it perfect.  Gozie truly was a man after my own heart – combining a promise of lifetime commitment with Notre Dame football.  Priceless!
We basked in post-engagement bliss for about a month before we began our wedding planning in earnest.  Gozie and I live in Washington, D.C., but my parents live in Atlanta, and we thought this charming southern city, known for its hospitality and delicious food, would be the perfect place for our nuptials.  In addition, with so many fun things to do, we thought Atlanta would provide a great experience for our guests, most of whom would come from all over the country, as well as England and Nigeria.

We quickly identified King Plow Event Gallery as the perfect venue for us.  King Plow is a renovated warehouse that combines quirky, rustic features from the past (for example, an outline of an old railroad track cuts through the event space) with modern touches, such as the building’s beautiful collection of artwork.  The space inspired our modern wedding décor – the candlelit ceremony and reception were filled with freshly cut bamboo and orchids held in clear vases and pewter urns, with a color palette of greens, cream, purples and pewter. Darryl Wiseman and his team did an amazing job with the décor!  The florist we originally hired shortly after our engagement, to our horror, vanished the week of our wedding.  Darryl and his team – with the help of our exceptional wedding planner, Shaundra Keith of B. Moore Events – came to the rescue and pulled the décor together in just a few days.  The end result was absolutely stunning and was the perfect backdrop to our amazing day.

The wedding overall surpassed all of our expectations.  There was so much love in the room, and we enjoyed every minute of it! One highlight of the evening was the dancing: our friends and family love to party, and they did not disappoint!  Gozie’s family is originally from Nigeria, so we incorporated a traditional Nigerian “spray dance” into the reception, where family and friends surrounded us and placed money on our foreheads as we danced to bid us a prosperous marriage.  Having all of our family and friends in one place to celebrate such an important moment in our relationship was absolutely surreal, and we hope that the video and photos capture the various emotions that we experienced throughout the day.
