From Heather Kincaid… Though this wasn’t the wedding they had been planning for the past year, Julia & Jon’s wedding day was the perfect day of celebration for them, their friends and family. Their original plans of a wedding on the big island of Hawaii were canceled because of the tsunami that resulted from Japan’s devastating earthquake. They along with all of their closest family and friends had arrived on the island the day before the wedding when they found out that the wedding would have to be canceled because the tsunami had created too much damage to the venue.
With the help of their amazing coordinators of Mindy Weiss Party Consultants, they were able to plan a whole new wedding at the Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara just six weeks later. It was perfect, fun, elegant, beautiful wedding that was meant to be their special day.
From the Bride… My vision for the wedding was always clean and understated. I wanted it to feel very sophisticated and knew that the decor could be simple yet romantic since the Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara is so beautiful. I chose this amazing Vera Wang gown that was unlike anything I had seen. For my bridesmaids, I chose floor-length strapless gowns in a rosey-champagne color that were slight shimmery for a look of relaxed glamour. I loved Jon’s light-colored suit, too.
The Four Seasons had the perfect site for our ceremony, which was exactly the look and feel we wanted- an amazing terrace overlooking the beach. And the ballroom was romantic and sophisticated and was the perfect size for our fairly intimate celebration.
Since our wedding in Hawaii had to be canceled last-minute, we only had 6 weeks to pull something beautiful together in Santa Barbara, so I enlisted the help of my bridesmaid’s talented mom to do the florals. They were perfect and just what I wanted- clusters of assorted white flowers on the tables, spilling over vases of orchids on the mantle, and gorgeous white and ivory bouquets to finish off the look. One of my favorite details of the day was the wave cake we had made.
The most memorable moment of my wedding day is when our dog Bailey ran down to us with the rings. It was a great moment that had everybody laughing.
