Welcome back to another fabulous week of inspiration here on SMP Canada, lovelies! We're jump starting your Monday with a sweet as can be British Columbia affair that is sure to capture your hearts one darling DIY detail at a time. Yes, I am loving the charming backyard setting, gorgeous bunting, stunning bridesmaid frocks, vintage vases and uber-yummy desserts table. Plus, Kristina Belkina Photography filled our gallery with breathtaking images... and that means an entire Monday spent wrapped up in pretty. Sounds like a good plan to me! Click here for more.

From the Bride... Carey and I got engaged in September 2010. It started out with a few small ideas and slowly developed into hundreds of small ideas. (Thanks to my addictions to SMP and Etsy!) I always wanted a summer backyard style wedding. My biggest challenge was choosing a theme or direction to take with decor... so I didn't! It really ended up being a collaboration of my favorite ideas that I found in the endless hours I spent on wedding blogs. The same applied to the color scheme, I pretty much went with a rainbow of pastels. Unfortunately we didn't have an unlimited budget to work with so almost all the decorations were made by myself and my bridesmaids. I hunted for months in all the local thrift stores for vases, half of which I ended up spray painting white. I made all the pom pom, fabric flags (bunting), table numbers and hanging mason jars. I couldn't believe how well everything came together, it looked better than I had imagined. My good friend Melissa from Coastal Weddings & Events was instrumental in ensuring everything was just right, you could NOT ask for a more calm and organized wedding planner. The day of the wedding I left the reception venue feeling relaxed knowing everything would be done just right.
The biggest hits were the candy apple martinis, photobooth, the music and, of course, the late night hot dogs. Music is so important to a great event and the song list I compiled did not disappoint. Our DJ did an amazing job lining up hit after hit. Thanks to her, the dance floor was never empty. My favorite part of the this perfect day was when the music came on and the dance floor filled up and we got to relax and spent the rest of the night dancing with all of our favorite people who came to support us. The day could not have gone any better and I want to thank everyone who helped to make this day absolutely perfect!
