Buellton Wedding by Kelli Elizabeth

Your lunch break has just gotten about a million times prettier thanks to this drop dead gorgeous California wedding by Kelli Elizabeth. There are so many details that have had me swooning all morning and they are, in no particular order: the ah-maz-ing floral displays, the gorgeous table linens puddling onto the floor of the barn, the soft and sweet pink bridesmaids dresses, the incredible barn (obvi), and the gorgeous Christmas tree gift table which, if I got married in December like this couple, I would so totally do that too! And the best part of all is that the bride and her planner, Jill Walsh, DIYed the entire pretty fete. Click here for even more.

From planner Jill Walsh…Once seeing the rustics of Zaca Creek Ranch, we immediately knew that the contrast to that would be a soft muted elegance. We accomplished that by choosing soft ivories, cream and blush pink as colors to soften the “ranch” feel, achieving a look of “elegant rustic.” A “Pride and Prejudice” feel of old luxury playing against the rolling winter hills of Los Olivos and the backdrop of a working ranch. From the hanging chandelier to the silver and china on the tables, all with mismatched white candles in mercury glass and old glass votives, also using chalkboard seating charts and rolled pink and ivory throw blankets to warm up outside with. Dessert was served among silver tea trays and silver handled servers. The effect was ultimately soft and dreamy. This was accomplished mostly by DIY.

Courtney and I traveled to Santa Barbara/Ventura to scour the flea markets and second hand stores hunting for the silver centerpiece bowls, old vintage votives, fabrics, pillows and sliver trays. Not wanting a traditional “gift table” Courtney had the idea of nodding to the season (December) by using a real Christmas tree as the gift table. We stayed to the look by using 1,000 white lights, a ivory channeled tree skirt with the name Walsh on it and a crystal star as a topper. Three real Christmas wreaths, adorned with mercury glass ornaments, were also hung on the enormous barn doors leading out to the dance patio. The whole night was elegant, but fun and relaxed, whether gathered around the outdoor bonfire enjoying pupus (Hawaiian for hor dourves) or feasting on the mesquite wood cooked meat inside the candlelit, warm and glowy barn.
