From Out of Hand ... Inspired by antique calligraphy, we imagined a wedding to celebrate unusual heirloom decor and the people attached to them.
Our bride wanted to forgo the pomp of a typical southern wedding in favor of an intimate family centered backyard affair. She loves all things vintage but isn't afraid to mix in a few modern elements. She appreciates the craftsmanship required to create an classic metal chair as much as that needed to write a hand-calligraphied letter. She is elegant but also not afraid to be less than perfectly coifed.
Building upon the beauty of an old family home, we chose a palette of grey and white with pops of turquoise and yves piaget fuchsia throughout the decor. Adding industrial and natural elements alike, the front porch and backyard are transformed into outside rooms that reflect the home's interior through an eclectic mix of bold striped fabric, vintage rich velvet chairs, and grandpa's prized mounted antlers. Similarly, the tablescape is decorated with a menagerie of modern and vintage using bell jar covered exotic orchids and roses placed in vintage vessels with moss running throughout while metal fern-filled globes hang overhead.
The look was captured exquisitely thanks to the airy photography by Virgil Bunao and the undone chicness of the wedding dress by Kira Elizabeth.
