San Diego Wedding by He & She Photography + Amorology

He & She Photography has done it again. Their images have completely bedazzled me. They’ve straight rendered me speechless and believe me that’s a very hard thing to do because I happen to have a whole separate vocabulary when it comes to gorgeous weddings. But this one, it deserves a category all its own and I think the title would be “The Most Insanely Freaking Gorgeous Yet Incredibly Unique and Undeniably Beautiful Wedding On the Planet.” I realize that’s a mouthful but wait until you see each and every perfect detail concocted by Amorology. You’re sure to agree. See the whole pretty day here!

From Amorology… We had so much fun planning Nisha + Sam’s wedding! They are such a cool couple. You know the couples that are in to all of the under the radar bands, and indie films? They are cooler than that. We did a lot of the planning with Nisha and her mother, which was an absolute blast, and also allowed us to mix in more traditional Indian elements with the funkier trendy aspects that were more Nisha + Sam.

Since they are both huge animal lovers (Sam protects polar bears and penquins for a living) and were going on a safari for their honeymoon- we knew this had to be a big part of the wedding. Nisha approached us with a color palette of navy blue and orange and from there we found the perfect linens. We used  traditional indian paisley but in a modern orange for dining tables with hip geometric navy napkins. Since the couple had chosen the New Children’s Museum as their venue, we wanted to incorporate another bright, happy color and brought yellow into the mix. We also loved the idea of using gold, but did not want it to feel heavy. For favors we spray-painted inexpensive plastic animals gold and set them at place-settings with a tag that read “You drive me wild!”  We showed Nisha a print of elephants traveling through the sky on hot air balloons that she feel in love- so we ran with that idea for the table names. The framed table names depicted different modes of transportation (a nod to the couple’s love of travel) with animals pictured in each scene. These ranged from penguins in a mini cooper, alligators in a side car, to a giraffe in roller sates. Cassie from Peanut Press Creative knocked it out of the park with these and all of the paper elements she created for Nisha + Sam.

Playing off the use of elephants, we had a custom made scroll for guests to sign, as they entered the ceremony location, that read ” We wish we had the memory of an elephant, please help us never forget this day!” The escort card table also got some jungle love! We spray painted large safari animals gold and placed them among the escort cards that were displayed in boxes of yellow lentils. The escort cards varied in different geometric patterns that brought in a touch of modern whimsy! Guests were invited to “Hunt and Devour” their favorite treats at the dessert table, which mixed western goodies with traditional Indian desserts. One of the most memorable parts of the night- hands down- had to be when the bridal party and some other guests broke into a flash mob to surprise the bride and groom with a dance they had secretly learned. The look on the couple’s face was priceless, especially when the groomsmen joined in! Nisha + Sam’s love for adventure made for one wildly fun night!
