Some people may think that Hawaii is the perfect location for a wedding and wouldn't be able to understand why this adorable couple left their native Hawaii to tie the knot in San Francisco. This intimate, rooftop fete was filled to the brim with the bride's favorite shade of pink and her most favorite florals of pink peonies from Radeff Design Studios. From the Bride...The path to our wedding in San Francisco began in 2009 when we first went to the city by the bay. My dear friend Yvonne had moved up in 2006 and Wallan’s close friend David had moved his family up to the bay area in 2005 as they both played major roles in our wedding. We were able to enjoy the many charms of the city, whether it was a ride on the cable car to Fisherman’s Wharf, dinner in Chinatown, the amazing exhibits of the De Young Museum, a walk around the Palace of Fine Arts or the spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge. San Francisco just captured our hearts.
Wallan proposed to me on a trip to New York City in 2010 at the main fountain in Central Park. We were torn between having a larger wedding here in Hawaii or a smaller more intimate destination wedding. Living in Hawaii, with its natural beauty and temperate conditions, we realize why many couples come here to join their lives together. We were often asked after deciding on a destination wedding, why are we not having it in Hawaii with all its benefits? Well, we fell in love with the city and so we decided on a small, intimate wedding with just our closest friends and family members present and San Francisco would be where we started our lives together as man and wife. I tried to incorporate all the things I love, including my favorite color (pink), flower (peony), and tie everything into a whimsical theme. The day of our wedding went just as I had envisioned it…only better!!
