We are about to warm up your Wednesday morning and put a nice big smile on your face with this California wedding inspiration. Isari Flower Studio & Event Design sent this charming little shoot our way, and I must admit – when I first laid eyes on it, I started really craving a nice cold lemonade and a relaxing afternoon in a hammock. Preferably at the adorable Condor’s Nest Ranch – where this fantastic shot played out. Captured by La Vida Creations, the whole affair just screams relaxed, late summer afternoon love fest. And I love it. Don’t forget to pop into the full image gallery, because there were so many fantastic details, we just couldn’t do it justice!
The rustic, yet chic environment and charm of the Condor’s Nest created the perfect setting for a Sun-Kissed Afternoon Picnic.
Before joining the main celebration, guests are greeted with a cool and refreshing rosemary-cucumber cocktail on the cottage porch. Comfy benches and throws accent this peaceful retreat from the afternoon sun. The porch is playfully decorated with paper pinwheel stars and whirly string spheres to add a bit of airiness to the welcoming hideaway. An antique pane door is repurposed to display table assignments for the guests as they find their way to the ultimate picnic location on the rolling event lawn.
Guests are seated at a table set for tea time with antique silver service and the venue’s eclectic collection of tea cups and saucers. A variety of desserts combined with a bounty of lemons and berries add bright pops of color… a perfect end to a relaxed afternoon tea.
Pulling from the surrounding lemon trees, a cheerful yellow is the dominant color in the floral arrangements. A delicate balance between country and elegance is achieved by mixing marigolds, tulips, ranunculus, chamomile, butter yellow stock, and white scabiosa. The containers are a collection of cream cache pots, casserole dishes, pitchers and decorative vases that add layers to the centerpieces, creating a delightful visual experience. Small vases with lillies of the valley complement the decor with a lighter touch.
Ruffled tissue adds texture to the menus, while a modern script font combines with a clean sans serif for contrast, reflecting the rustic and elegant nature of the sun-kissed afternoon picnic.
The invitations use the same script and a watercolor-dyed edge for a uniquely elegant feel. The watercolors make each and every piece unique; they are finished off with a small bow and packaged in a delicate lace envelope, adding another level of texture and elegance.
All these quaint elements are set atop a playful tablecloth arrangement mixing textures and patterns to add to the slightly ecclectic feel of the elegant picnic. Paisley designs combine beautifully with the striped tablecloth and antiqued lace napkins bring a bit of country to the table.
Our lovely models reflect the rustic and relaxed, yet elegant. The bride is showcased in a delicate lace dress, piled with pearls, while the groom gives her the spotlight in a cream-colored suit and bowtie. The bridesmaids show off a bit of Springtime with an array of fresh blues and greens, while the best man complements the groom’s slightly formal yet comfortable attire. The flower girls fit right in with their flouncy tulle dresses.
What a lovely way to spend a gorgeous day basking in the warmth of the afternoon sun!
