If I could live the rest of my days in one spot, it would have to be the South of France, a.k.a Dreamy McDreaminess. But the next best thing to living there would be saying I Do overlooking the French countryside in a place like Chateau Vaudois. And even better? Having it all captured by Studio Cabrelli who takes the loveliest of images we ever did see. Whether they are photographing a bushel of balloons or sweet kisses between newly crowned husband and wife, it’s all gorgeous and it’s all here in the full gallery.

From the Bride…I am French and Andy is British. When he proposed, we took the brave decision to plump for the South of France where my parents have a holiday home over the maligned industrial town from where Andy originates (sorry Stoke-on-Trent!). We had our hearts set on having an outdoor venue and chose the Chateau Vaudois for its gorgeous garden and the beautiful surrounding vineyards. Having wine made just a few yards from the reception felt pretty special.
Rather than a stiff, formal décor or specific theme where everything-must-match, we wanted a relaxed, homely feel to the wedding. A vibe was built from the ground up, gradually, rather than imposed top-down. When we saw something we liked (most of the time on SMP!), we just found a way to incorporate it in the day. And, somehow, it all came together. Each table had a dozen different tea-light holders that I bought individually in the months leading up – it was important for us to treat out guests to the personal touch, even if it meant many, many DIY jobs. I hand stamped each letter on the place cards, designed the wedding invitations, website, made the ring cushion and arranged the flowers. The favors were homemade strawberry jams and adorned with our own labels too.
Getting married in south of France meant that almost all the guests had to travel; we owed them a debt of gratitude just for being there and wanted to guarantee, as much as possible, that they had an amazing time. We supplied paper parasols to shield them from the heat and prepared a guest hamper that contained everything they could possibly need from safety pins to aspirin and plasters. We also had gift bags for the kids, with each little girl received a vintage bride Barbie.
Although the day flew by, it felt very relaxed. From tears of laughter during the ceremony (caused by the groom’s phone going off) to the dancing until dawn… it was the most perfect day!
