A couple of weeks ago a little brown box arrived on our doorstep. And placed perfectly inside was THE most insanely beautiful book I’ve ever seen. With photographs of homes so beautiful you have to pinch yourself. And DIY projects, perfect for the SMP styled fete, that make you want to dog ear the page until you remember that the pages themselves are pretty and glossy and everything gorgeous. It was volume one of the brand spanking new Design*Sponge at Home. And I say volume one because I’m trying to hint to Grace and her awesome publisher that we would looooove us some D*S volumes 2, 3 4 and maybe 5 because it’s just that good. Anyway, back to the book.
So when Grace reached out to us with a special sneek peek taylored exclusively for our wedding savvy readers…well, we jumped. Here is an absolutely darling DIY fresh from the pages of this new read and the perfect additional to any rustically gorgeous affair.
DIY PROJECT: Lace Doily Table Runner by writer and crafter, Christine Chitnis
Materials
1. Arrange your doilies across a table-top to create a long runner, overlapping the edges of each adjoining doily.
2. Once you have achieved your desired look, carefully pin together the edges of the doilies.
3. Using either a needle and a thread, or a sewing machine, stitch together the edges of the doilies.
