I think today is going to be a great day. In fact, I am certain of it. How could it not be absolutely wonderful when we are starting it all off with this fabulous Vancouver affair? All designed by the bride and the Mother of the Groom, it’s one gorgeous vintage chic moment after another, complete with bird cages, chalkboards, typewriters, candles and cupcakes. Yep, you heard me right. All of that amazing in just one wedding and we’re the lucky ones that get to spend all day gazing at each and every breathtaking image by Ophelia Photography. Sounds like a pretty nice Friday to me. Join me in the gallery for all of the pretty!

From the Bride… I wanted a vintage style wedding to celebrate the past. Antiques and vintage decor reminds me of my grandparents and unfortunately both my Grandma and Grandpa Walton passed away before they could see their only granddaughter get married… secretly it was a way to remember them. Jeff’s grandparents couldn’t come from Toronto either so we both only had 1 set of grandparents there. I also love vintage look and feel, its timeless and will never go out of “style.”
I always wanted my wedding outside but Jeff wanted a traditional wedding so with the pavilion being able to open the walls it was a nice compromise and the boathouse was gorgeous since it was on the water. I always wanted to be married on the beach or by the water so again, this was a happy compromise…we both fell in love with both locations instantly.
Most of the wedding was “DIY” but I can’t take credit for it at all. My wonderful mother-in-law thought of most of the ideas. We shopped for different pink style china plates at thrift stores as well as tea pots, tea cups and saucers and anything vintage. I love scrapbooking so our invites were printed but then lots of scrapbooking touches. Our favors were my mom’s famous “pralines” and we wrapped them in burlap bags…loved that! We had frames with vintage material in them which is very easy to do.
