Blaine Wedding by Michèle M. Waite Photography

If a little cheering up after a long work week is what you crave then look no further than this colorful gem of a wedding by Michèle M. Waite Photography.  I’ve developed a severe case of perma-grin from the full and bright florals, fun palette of pink, orange, red and yellow plus all those sweet, playful details.  Of course, it’s not a surprise to anyone that Michèle’s photographs are just as stunning as ever!  See them all in the full gallery!

From the Bride…I was not the type who dreamed about her wedding as a little girl, so when it came time to get married I found the whole process pretty overwhelming! From the beginning, my vision was romantic, soft, pretty and textured but I wasn’t sure what that would translate into… all I knew was that I really wanted a complementary mixture of colours rather than the standard 2 colour theme. It was a Martha Stewart photo that really gave me the colour palette inspiration – since our wedding was going to take place outdoors, on waterfront and during sunset (without any rain hopefully!), I thought that sunset colours would be perfect… soft yellows, peaches and corals with punchy hits of “persimmon”, a deep orange-pink-red that I was never able to describe in words to anyone. Finally, I ended up picking out paint chips so I could show our vendors what I meant! As we progressed, I added hits of gold and light gray. Everything came together beautifully… our florist, Tricia, did an incredible job of making my ill-described vision come to life with garden roses, orchids and over 500(!) stems of coral and yellow peonies. Peonies are my favourite flower; it was beyond all of my wildest expectations! We actually chose and booked our venue before we got engaged – we saw it, knew it was perfect for us and that we would have to book right then to get a date more than a year away… needless to say, it wasn’t long after that when Kris proposed! We live in White Rock, BC (Canada) which is right beside the US border so it was a semi-destination wedding for us – even though it was only minutes from home, it was in another country!

Our day was true perfection – not a thing went wrong thanks to the venue staff, our coordinator, Alicia and some serious organization on my part. I was so worried that I would be strung out on the morning of, and would cry the entire way down the aisle (and I am not an attractive crier!). Instead, I was supremely relaxed all morning, focused on the excitement of the day. I did get emotional walking down the aisle, but as soon as I hit the grass, my beautiful shoes sank instantly and I couldn’t help but laugh as I continued slowly down the aisle. The weather was perfect (one of the only sunny June days we had!), and we had the most fabulous friends and family to celebrate the day with. Two of our closest friends, Shawn and Eddie, did a bang-up job of MC-ing our wedding and keeping everyone entertained throughout the evening. I wish I could re-live our wedding day over and over again, it was simply amazing. Thankfully, our incredible photographer, Michele Waite captured hundreds of beautiful images to remember it all with. All-in-all, it was an unforgettable day.
