From McGowan Images… With the first real heat wave of the Texas summer passing through, this wedding day was hot-hot-hot! But an intimate sunken garden kept guests in the shade, and Lauren & Trenton partied the night away under trees strung with twinkling lights. A string quartet might have seemed like a traditional choice, but careful listeners noticed that they were actually playing classic rock standards. Little touches like that put this wedding over the top… everyone walked away knowing it was a perfect reflection of the couple we were all there to celebrate!
Lauren paid special attention to the “little details” throughout the day, as it was her #1 priority to have guests walking away saying, “I’ve never been to a wedding like that before!” With the help of an aunt who’s a fabulously talented designer, Lauren & her family flew to the heights of DIY in transforming this simple venue into a sumptuous garden retreat. As a photographer, I’m well-aware of the work that goes into a wedding with this number of personal projects, and fully expected Lauren to be a frazzled brides with a million last minute “To Dos.” We were pleasantly surprised to find nothing of the sort! Lauren was excited and chill at the same time… just ready to get married. She said, “I knew the day was going to be a good one when Trenton brought me a sno-cone this morning. That’s all I need… my man, and a sno-cone.” It’s moments like that, and people like these, that have me continuously in love with my job!
