You see, what we have here is a trifecta of wedding loveliness: gorgeous images by Krakora Studios, so pretty I could eat them florals by daffodil*parker and fabulous, fabulous wedding day attire filled with one gorgeous frock after another. That is a lot of great stuff happening in one tiny little post so be sure to stop by the gallery for the whole shebang!

From the Bride…Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can just let your venue do the talking. Bishops Bay Country Club in Middleton, Wisconsin did just that for us. The old mansion, combined with the rolling greens and picturesque views of the State Capitol across Lake Mendota created the perfect backdrop for our wedding day. White, with accents of golden yellow and champagne, were present in every aspect of the day. I walked down a grassy aisle lined with copious amounts of yellow rose petals to Bobby waiting beside a vintage vanity, that we used as our alter. Handmade May baskets are a tradition in my family and that was our inspiration for creating the lovely, little, yellow cones wrapped with gold foil doilies – they held yellow rose petals for our guests to shower us with. We said our vows lakeside, beneath two majestic oak trees, surrounded by two hundred of our closest friends and family.

As a Graphic Designer, I created our wedding monogram, programs, menus and table numbers. Along with my mother and sisters we added our creative touches to most everything. I gifted my attendants with gold tag and pearl necklaces, stamped with their initial, the cuffs on the boy’s shirts were monogrammed with their initials as well. My “something blue” was a delicate bracelet with a blue stone, a gift from Bobby that he brought from Iraq. Our floral designer incorporated it into my exquisite bouquet of roses, ranunculus, hydrangeas, orchids, lisianthus and sweetpeas.

Our reception portrayed a warm, upscale, vintage-inspired theme. Draped in white, the tent was an ethereal setting for tables adorned with my mother’s antique silver serving pieces filled with orchids, lisianthus, ranunculus and roses. Hundreds of candles clustered about gave a warm presence to the evening. On the guest book table, we placed an antique Underwood typewriter, circa 1920’s, for our guests to type notes telling us what “love” meant to them. This table also held a large, ornate lamp which gave a warm, charming glow to the area. Displayed there as well were various vessels filled with fresh yellow d’anjou pears, our thank you favors for all of our wonderful guests. My favorite memory from our wedding day was discovering that unbeknownst to either of us, we had the same inscription engraved in the other’s wedding band: “You’re my favorite”.
