Della Terra Mountain Chateau Wedding from Dreamtime Images

Colorado is GORGeous, with a capital GORG, so when I opened up this wedding from Della Terra Mountain Chateau, I was obviously excited for the views, but even more excited as I started delving into the actual wedding. Captured by Dreamtime Images, this wedding is just what your brain needs for the Monday morning jolt. The whole purple affair is beyond beautiful, from the florals, to the venue, all the way down to the brides purple kicks. When you’re ready for more, click here for the full gallery!

Both avid hikers and skiers, Cody and I knew we wanted to have our wedding outside in the Rocky Mountains and Della Terra was the perfect venue to introduce the mountains we love to our wedding guests, many of them who travelled large distances to celebrate with us. McGregor slab provided a gorgeous backdrop for our outdoor ceremony and the Chateau’s huge windows allowed the beautiful vistas surrounding Della Terra to envelope our reception.

The simple decorations we made to complement Della Terra’s already beautiful space were a family project. Our mountain-inspired wildflowers were arranged in containers collected by my maid of honor, and now sister-in-law, Chelsea and myself. The escort cards and table numbers were cut by Cody and my dad from fallen aspen trees in my parents’ backyard. I hand wrote guests names on wood slices and carved table numbers on aspen logs. Our cake stand was cut from an old tree stump in my parents’ backyard and leveled by my brother, Joe.

The staff at Della Terra did an amazing job of orchestrating our wedding day. I wasn’t even aware of the rain delay we experienced until just moments before I walked out of the chateau to see all of our guests gathered at the ceremony site with umbrellas. The entire day was a dream, but my most vivid memory of the day was when Cody and his groomsmen picked up guitars and a drum and surprised everyone by playing Ben Harper’s “Forever” during our ceremony. Cody and I first started dating after I saw his band play at a local venue in Denver, so incorporating his band into our wedding was a uniquely personal moment for us.
