Bellingen Wedding by Jake McBride

Oh my goodness, do I love this bride and groom.  Not only are they totally adorable, but their wedding was beyond ah.ma.zing (and one I wish I had been invited to), complete with a vibrant color scheme, skull motif, bird cages and twinkle lights.  And if that wasn’t enough, the oh-so-stunning bride designed her own wedding gown and it is so gorgeous and so unique that it has literally left me speechless from its awesomeness.  And rocking all of those fabulous colors on your wedding day?  Yes.  Please.  Jake McBride was there to capture all of the pretty and, believe you me, you don’t want to miss one single image.  See every last detail here!

From Jake McBride Anna asked Jake to marry her while in Mexico. She is the first to admit she is not the traditional bride. Anna is interested in Mexican culture (the skull motif). Her ceremony centerpieces were skulls made from a collage of dried daises. Anna hung bird cages wrapped in flowers and candles for garden lights. The large jars of cocktails were on hand to get the festival on its way. The cake was modeled from a Persian love-cake. Anna, a textile designer, stripped down a sample garment and redesigned it with billowing panels if printed vintage flowers, birds and antlers and layers of silk. They wrapped fairy lights around large old trees to create a wonderland of candles and lights. Around the hedged lawn Anna placed ottomans and wooden bench seats with cushions we had made from vintage tea towels.
